If You Are New To Doing Push Ups Here Are Some Quick Tips!

Get down on all fours you are basically getting into the high plank position similar here!

You would want your arms to be about should width apart when you hold yourself up like this.
When you go down in the push ups you want to breath in and when you push yourself back up you want to breath out. It varies if you are doing a lot of push ups for reps the breathing would be different of course but general speaking for slow and control push ups that's how you wanna do it

Breath in while you go down. Breath out when you are pushing yourself up.

Some things to keep in mind. Make sure you engage your core while you hold yourself up and keep your body straight. Don't slouch while doing push ups.

Also an important reminder while you are doing push ups do not flare your elbows too much. Generally speaking for standard push ups you would want your elbow to be pointed about 45 degrees away from your body not 90. Sometimes when people are new to push ups they flare too much and it puts too much pressure on their shoulders. For wider grip push ups generally speaking it is ok but for standard push ups keep the elbows pointing out at about 45 degrees.
